Dear Webster Families,
I would like to welcome each one of you to Webster Early Learning Center. It is our desire to meet the needs of each and every student and family that walks through our doors. In order to do that, there are several items that we need from you to ensure the safety of your child. Please take the time to read the enclosed enrollment packet and fill out any paperwork in its entirety. In addition, when changes occur throughout the year, please keep the school informed of those changes so that you can be reached in case of an emergency. Any changes should be given to Amy Lynn Anstaett, our school secretary so that she can keep our database up to date.
Webster staff strives to get kids off to school on the right foot. It is our belief that early intervention services may decrease the amount of special services that children need as they progress through elementary and secondary schools. Therefore, each and every child that attends Webster or Irving ECSE program MUST go through our screening process. If your child has not had the opportunity to attend a screening within the county since they turned three, please call Cowley County Special Services Cooperative to schedule an appointment for August 4th, August 8th or August 13th. That number is 620-221-7021.
We have an active Parent Teacher Organization here at Webster. This organization has been instrumental in the fundraising that provided our playground, bike path, and iPad purchases. In addition they are in the process of getting signage for our building. They also support classroom instruction by helping to fund some of the resources that we need within the classroom and fund our field trips and programs outside of the classroom. I would like to invite you to become an active part of this organization. Our meetings will be held the second Monday of every month at 5:30 at Webster. Please plan to attend.
Meet your teacher night will be held on Thursday, August 21st. The kids who will attend the morning session are invited to come meet their teacher between 6:00 and 6:30. The kids who will attend the afternoon session are invited to come meet their teacher between 6:30 and 7:00. Please plan to bring your child’s school supplies with you to meet your teacher night. You may bring them in a grocery sack with your child’s name on the bag. You will receive a call from your child’s teacher indicating their class placement earlier that week. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend meet your teacher night.
I am very excited to get the 2014-15 school year started. If there is anything that you need, please do not hesitate to contact me at Webster, 620-221-5170.
